LEAP Grant Financial Calculations

LEAP Grants are based on financial need.  The information that you will need to verify that financial aid can be taken from the FAFSA.  The formula for financial aid is:

Cost of education minus the sum of the Estimated Family Contributions and Total Financial aid.  Total financial aid includes Pell grants, subsidized loans, PFAP grant and the Leap grant.

COE = Cost of Education 

EFC = Estimated Family Contributions 

TFA = Total Financial Aid

                COE - (EFC + TFA) must be equal to or greater than zero

It can also be stated as:

                COE is greater than the sum of EFC and TFA
